The USA using minor and tertiary progressions

I’ve been so discouraged by the election, it’s hard to look at the USA chart, but it’s necessary. I’ve been working more with tertiary and minor progressions lately, using Robert Blaschke’s book on progressions. The USA chart has some interesting ones going on now. The Sun in a chart represents the leader. Right now tertiary Uranus is conjoining the USA Sun within minutes. President Obama has been behaving “independently” lately, albeit not enough regarding the stand-off in ND, but at least some. Trump, of course, is always Uranian, since it conjoins his natal Sun.

Over the last few months, the minor progressed Pluto has been conjoining the USA natal Moon…pressure brought to bear on the populace, which is being transformed by what is going on.

What I find really amazing is that the minor progressed Ascendant of the USA is aligning with the secondary progressed Moon and both are opposing the USA natal Uranus. The minor Ascendant will not actually catch up to that for a little while longer. That certainly describes the shock and chaos we are suffering and may even be the indicator of an upset…common with Uranus aspects. Meanwhile, the tertiary Venus is exactly conjoining the descendant, which would show acquiescence to whatever the powers-that-be are doing.

Tertiary Saturn, at 5:00 degrees Aquarius is about to quincunx Jupiter, which I would surmise is a “disconnect” of the grassroots populace from information related to the USA’s income and expenses. Plus, tertiary Pluto is also quincunx the USA Sun…applying by only 16 minutes…another disconnect but this one regarding the legislature and their “secrets” or “behind the scenes” activities. In other words, I believe there is enormous corruption running rampant right now.

Donald Trump’s Chart

 [First an announcement:  I’ve changed my year-long offer to focus on signs instead of months. The birth chart is a very flexible thing. Every time we make a choice, we change our future possibilities. For instance, if one is born with a tendency toward lying (as Donald Trump is), and you keep on doing it, then there are consequences. But, if at some time, you decided not to do it anymore, your life changes and so do the results of future possibilities in your birth chart. That is why forecasting with a chart is so difficult. An astrologer does not know what character choices anyone has made in the past (and often neither do the clients themselves, it is so subjective), so it is impossible to say what choices they’ll make in any circumstances. But the chart CAN show what the dilemma is really all about which can be very helpful in making choices.

In other words, just because your chart shows a tendency toward something, it doesn’t mean you are fated to always have that habit in your character. My teacher used to say, “Change your character, and you change your life.”  No one is “destined” to be a murderer or a thief (or anything else negative).  Otherwise, why have the Ten Commandments? Or any moral code at all?

Donald Trump has the south node of the Moon conjunct the Moon in Sagittarius and in the fourth house in the Koch house system.  Both the south node of the Moon and the Moon, itself, show past life habits that have been developed. Not only that, but the fourth house is where we find information about the subconscious, habit patterns, and family, which is where we acquire our habits, etc. Sagittarius has often been called the “hoof in mouth disease” sign…and Donald has a “habit” (fourth house and lunar emphasis) of blurting out the “truth” as he sees it at the moment. After all, he has Mercury square Neptune (undisciplined imagination), which is the signature of one who has a loose acquaintance with honesty. It is further exacerbated by the Moon being opposite Uranus and the Sun (which are only five degrees apart).  Uranus is indicative of independence in the extreme and strong individuality. Since all of this is aligning with the lunar nodes, these attributes have been there in past lives and are habitual. In other words, he does as he pleases. The Sun and Uranus are in the tenth house…career…and that would indicate independence in career. Most with that signature are self-employed.

In addition, he has Mars rising in Leo, which is aggressive, quick to anger and impulsive. Leo rising—especially with Mars rising in Leo, as well, is proud and defensive—seldom apologizing, if ever.

So far, we see extreme independence, and we’d assume confidence. HOWEVER, he also has Venus in sensitive, emotional Cancer conjunct Saturn, the planet of conflict, pain and doubt. They square Jupiter in Libra in the second house. When someone has such a conjunction, we look for the way they will compensate by finding out if the conjunction aspects anything. The square to Jupiter shows he NEEDS to compensate in order to feel he fits into society (Jupiter in Libra—the sign that needs others’ approval). Since Jupiter is in the second house, he sees the answer in being rich, and Jupiter there usually indicates wealth to some degree. But, as an aside here, he also has Neptune in the second house which is indicative of losses, poor financial judgement, and one who has a difficult time *keeping* money. Since Neptune rules the 8^th house (other peoples’ money), that is where he gets it. As an aside, Jupiter also trines Uranus tightly, which indicates a great sense of humor and enormous *luck.*

All in all, his natal chart does show a short attention span, blunt speech and spontaneity, but it is not nearly as dangerous as Hillary’s. He can change on a dime; she is rigid and will not deviate from a plan, and her chart is SO strong in that direction—no matter what time she was born, she’d almost have to become a different person to change it; I see no evidence of that.

Donald’s Forecast

I am not going to predict a winner in this contest because the chart shows how a person feels at a given time, and if Trump wins, he may not be the happiest of people when he finds out how his hands are tied by law and the “shadow government” that I believe is really running things.

His chart shows that he is not all that unhappy at the time of the election. In fact, on November 19^th, transiting Uranus is trine his Moon which would indicate exciting plans he may envision for the public as well as things going very well in his marriage. It is around December 2^nd, that he hits a brick wall, so to speak. At that time, Saturn will be opposing Uranus (“I have to do what I have to do and there is no ‘freedom’ to do as I please.”), and the progressed Moon conjoins natal Saturn= depression. Of course, since these things unfold over time, it could be manifesting right after the election.

Additionally, later in December, around the New Year, Saturn transits the Moon.  He is not a happy person at that time.  It appears it might be a private family matter, but that can be the result of a thwarting of plans (Moon rules the 11^th—goals).

The progressed MC will conjoin progressed Saturn in a little over a year, which is a disappointment in one’s public image and can be a major professional loss.

Recently, two things have happened. One, his progressed Sun changed signs and entered the low self-esteem sign of Virgo. That was about three months ago. This only happens every thirty years (a sign change, not necessarily Virgo, of course). It is a major shift. Around the same time progressed Mercury conjoined progressed Pluto, which is a deep, intense shift in thought. These really rocked his core. He is learning a lot from this campaign.

In summation, this has been a difficult race to predict because Hillary is secretive about her birth time, we don’t have a clue about Jill’s time of birth, Bernie’s was also “iffy” and the only one we have definitely is Donald’s. Usually, though, the prevailing wisdom is that Saturn is usually near the MC (which absolutely depends on the time of birth) when one becomes president because that indicates culmination of career—one’s highest attainment. Trump’s is opposite that point, and that is usually the low point of a career when one questions their basic security. After all, Trump has lost his TV show and has probably done a lot of damage to his “brand” since many hotels are removing his name. That would indicate a loss. We shall see.

 

October 2016: A Critical Month

We astrologers are very good at explaining things in hindsight.  From experience, for instance, we have noticed that the stock market seems to have dramatic events in October more than any other month. THIS month is especially dramatic around Monday, the 17^th. I’m using the Sibley chart (July 4, 1776 at 5:12 pm in Philadelphia, PA), so if absolutely nothing happens, I’ll have to begin considering others for the USA. It was very dramatic for the 9/11 event and has held up for others, as well, like WWII, for instance.

First, historically, conjunctions of Mars and Pluto very often signal a “break through” whether positive or negative. They will conjoin on Wednesday, October 18^th, but on Monday, the 16^th, they will be in a position of “straddling” a square to the USA Saturn…i.e. Pluto will have just passed the square, and Mars is about to perfect to it. When an event is shown by multiple indicators, it often erupts when planets are somewhat equidistant from a trigger point. Another example of this is that the progressed Moon has already passed an opposition to progressed Uranus and is approaching an opposition to natal Uranus during this month and next. The progressed Moon moves one degree a month on average, and is right now between these two. That shows a surprise and upset with the populace – the hurricane going on earlier could be one manifestation of it, but that only affects part of the country. Since the Moon rules the 8^th house in the Sibley chart, this can be a surprise in the stock market. Tertiary Uranus is also within a degree of conjoining the Sun in the 8^th house (investments), and transiting Mars is triggering that over the weekend of Oct. 15-16.

Another concern is transiting Saturn is going over the USA ascendant. It had already squared the progressed Sun, which has been in range for about three months waiting for a trigger. Tertiary Venus is doing that at this time. Imagine: the progressed Sun approaching a square to the ascendant, tertiary Venus (moves only one or two degrees a month) moving into place squaring the progressed Sun, and transiting Saturn going over the ascendant being the trigger to set it all off.

Another concern is transiting Uranus on this very day is exactly-to-the-minute quincunx natal Neptune. That might not be of concern so much except that the tertiary Moon is conjoining natal Neptune, too. The tertiary Moon moves one degree every two DAYS, so that really zeroes in on this date. Just a couple days earlier it was square natal Mars. That particular natal aspect (Mars square Neptune) is a real problem in this chart and shows the tendency to corruption and covert behavior of the government that the country has had since the beginning. This could very well be an exposure of corruption that “separates” (quincunx) the country’s population from trusting government AT ALL (Neptune is in the ninth). And by the way, that square has been activated in some way every single time we have a foreign conflict—ninth house is also foreign countries.

There is much, much more. For instance, tertiary Neptune has been squaring the Sun for quite a while, showing government corruption, plus the tertiary Sun is sextile tertiary Mars, both quincunx the natal MC. The motion of these two last only a short time…one or two months, and at this time, they are just about partile (exact). This is a finger-of-God configuration. It’s a separation of a leader from the masses—a grass roots rebellion of some kind.

Secondary progressed Saturn is trine Venus within one minute, but a trine is probably not how it will manifest because the natal aspect will prevail. Venus is in a stellium which squares natal Saturn. Even if one or more of the planets is not technically in orb of an aspect (Venus and Jupiter in this case), all the planets will take part in it if some of the stellium is in orb. It might take the edge off somewhat, but since Venus natally conjoins Jupiter and by extension, the Sun, it speaks of excess, waste and possible gluttony—especially in the way collective finances (tax money) is handled. Progressed Saturn and Mars are both retrograde which indicates (to me) our “revisiting” controlling and warlike tendencies.  They have both been squaring the Cancer planets for years. This may explain the disappearance of the middle class, perpetual war, and stagnant wages.

And then there are the Solar Arcs

Solar arc Saturn has been opposing the USA ascendant for about nine months, and since transiting Saturn is now going over the ascendant, the financial hardship promised by this is becoming apparent. Saturn rules the second house. Our national profit generation is stagnant. Solar arc Moon has been squaring natal Mercury for over a year showing government mismanagement of the country’s finances….Moon rules the 8^th and Mercury is the intercepted ruler of the ninth (legislature). 

Interestingly, solar arc Neptune is within minutes of semi-sextiling natal Mars (the semi-sextile operates much like the quincunx since it is the completion of it to 180 degrees), which will activate the Mars/Neptune square, even though it will trine natal Neptune. This is confusion of the masses (Mars rules the fourth and fifth), but also a split between the public (Mars in the 7^th) and the government (Neptune in the 9^th).  If ever there was a time people will not buy into the propaganda, this is it. Not only that, but the Midheaven changed signs a little over three months earlier which changes the type of president we’d be electing, or how the government will be manifesting.  If we don’t have a real change now, it will be extremely disruptive when the MC reaches natal and progressed Uranus in seven to eight years. And even if we do have some change now, it will really be a “revolution” when that aspect occurs anyway….of course, it all depends on whether or not this is a valid chart for the USA. A dramatic aspect like the progressed/Solar arc MC conjoining Uranus will tell the tale.

The eclipse and a word about Hillary

We had a lunar eclipse yesterday (9/16/16) at 3:05:01 EDT at Washington, DC.  The Sun and Moon opposition occupied 24:20 Virgo/Pisces. Anyone with chart positions within five degrees of that (including square aspects) will be most affected. The eclipse chart set for DC tells us a bit about the next year relative to the USA. There is a very close square from Mars to the Sun and Moon, forming a T-square. Since Mars rules the fourth house in this chart, it indicates anger of the populace, but with Mars in the 12^th, it isn’t obvious. It COULD indicate some unexpected and violent weather patterns, especially since Uranus is conjunct the fourth cusp which is ruled by Mars.

Uranus is also opposing Venus—two degree orb, which could easily indicate some kind of unexpected upset regarding the leader of the country.

As most of you know, we are now in a long term square of Neptune and Saturn. This has the effect of bringing “discipline” to deception. AND, since they are forming a T-square with Mercury, we can expect quite a bit of discloser over the next year—probably centered around six to seven months from now.

However, I’m happy to see that Pluto is rising and well-aspected. Congress should be getting some serious work done by next summer, and with Jupiter in the ninth, we should have a pretty decent congress getting some work done, although it will probably be exaggeratedly reported as better than it really is (Jupiter rules 12^th and is square the ascendant).

A few words about Hillary

I’m not going to get into a long discussion about her now, but just want to point out a couple of things. I had been frustrated by not having a good time of birth, but her recent health issue really brought the 8:02 a.m. chart into focus. There have been firm denials about her health, but looking at this chart, I have to wonder. Notice that the progressed Sun and Mercury are squaring natal and progressed Neptune, a signature of confusion and possible neurological issues. Most importantly, notice the progressed Moon exactly within a minute squaring the progressed Sun and Mercury and also right between the natal and progressed Neptune. Further, solar arc Uranus is within a half degree of the MC—professional upset—an awakening. Solar arc MC is also square her Mars/Pluto conjunction. I do not think she is in any condition to take on the presidency

Coming drama. Hold on!

These are very interesting times! A few days ago there was a conjunction of Mars and Saturn at 9 degrees Sagittarius. And now we are about to have an eclipse squaring that point at 9 degrees of Virgo. And there is much more.

I use the Sibley chart for the USA. Even though there are several others, I’ve noticed that there are points in them that could be triggered simultaneously with the Sibley chart, so I have continued to use it. Right now there are many issues going on.

Let’s start with the recent conjunction of Mars and Saturn at almost ten degrees Sagittarius. It occurred on August 23^rd and is notorious for “action taken after long frustration.” It is affecting the mutable signs around ten degrees (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces)….and remember, not just the Sun sign, but any planet or point in the chart that might be near that degree. In the USA chart, it is affecting Uranus which occupies 8:55 Gemini. Uranus in the USA chart is opposite the Ascendant, and is an indicator of “independent” attitudes.

When Mars and Saturn aligned in the sky (from our viewpoint—of course they are in different orbits), they were only three degrees above the USA chart’s ascendant, which is 12:46 Sagittarius in the Sibley chart. Simultaneously solar arc Saturn is opposing it at 13:22 Gemini. Not only that, but the USA progressed Sun is squaring all of them at 11:53 Pisces. A LOT is being affected by the Mars/Saturn conjunction AND the accompanying progressions. But there’s more. In six months the USA progressed Moon will join the configuration hovering around the USA’s ascendant/descendant axis. The month before it does, the progressed Moon will enter the first quarter phase with the progressed Sun.

To top it off, there is an eclipse on September 1^st at 9:21 Virgo, which will aspect all of this. It sets up a year of attention to these energies.

What does all this mean? It means that events are converging to upset the status quo. The first quarter progressed lunar to progressed Sun phase is a kind of “revolution.” Those born with it in their charts tend to disagree first—like a knee-jerk reaction—before agreeing on anything. There is a natural tendency to rebellion. Since the Sun rules the ninth (legislature) we’ll probably see a lot of rebellion in Congress about five months from now, and might last as long as three and a half years—as long as the P Moon is in first quarter phase to the P Sun. We’re seeing some of it right now with transiting Uranus squaring the USA’s Mercury/Pluto opposition, and that will be in effect well into 2018. No, we’re not going to just lie down and play dead. Things are going to change!! There is another powerful eclipse coming in Mid-September. I’ll write about that next.
